Kismayo was my get-away City on Fridays from Juba Sugar Project in Mareerey. As a young engineer in the late 1980s, I recall having a lot of fun and wild happy parties in peace in Kismayo Waamo resorts.

As an official of Puntland from 1990s, I also remember spending many nights worrying about Jubaland’s security situation and its future. To see it today moving on the road to recovery has special meaning for me.
