There are renewed clan and political conflicts within, on the one hand, and politically motivated interference by the Federal Government to unseat Ahmed Madoobe, exploiting the political dispute resulting from recent Jubaland election, in which Ahmed Madoobe claimed the presidency for the 3rd time, on the other hand.
Recent reports allege that there were political reconciliation efforts to bring Ahmed Madoobe, Seeraar and Xidig together on terms unknown outside the Federal Government and the leaders of Somali origin in Kenya.
Some reports indicate that there were Federal Government intrigues to depose Madoobe under secret talks, while keeping up military pressure in Gedo Region to squeeze Madoobe into a corner and up against the wall to resign.
Whatever the reports may say, there is no doubt that Madoobe is in trouble and fighting for his survival.
