GREETINGS, Sheikh Ismail, Excellent analysis on the subject of the type of Governance Model suitable for the Somalis. In my humble opinion, Ismail, for a tribal nomadic society (we are still nomadic in our thinking) to move fast towards Democracy, is to first embrace a centralized ‘Collective Patriotic Dictatorship’; where the common interest of the society is paramount. All these so called European Democracies, were run, one time or another for centuries, by Monarchs or Dictators. Confederation is a recipe for division and an invitation for enemies of the Somali People to devour us one piece at a time. Just a personal thought, Ahmed Hamud, Mississauga, ON Canada

Those who lived through the horrors of DICTATORSHIP in Somalia would be heartbroken and fall into despair to hear any kind of dictator. It is hard to fathom what “Collective Patriotic DICTATORSHIP” entails other than dictatorship where no one has a say in the affairs of their society. I would rather opt for tribal confederation for Somalia than any form of dictatorship, no matter how one calls it benevolent.
